A 55-year-old Fargo man is facing his 10th drunken-driving conviction after being arrested earlier this month in Wisconsin. It's a history that's drawn felony-level charges.
Holmen, Wis., police say they got a report from a gas station clerk at 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 8 of a seemingly drunk customer driving away.
Police stopped a vehicle allegedly driven by Darell Robert Poss, 123 15th St. N., and when speaking with an officer, Poss apologized for driving because his license was suspended, according to a complaint filed on Oct. 12 in La Crosse County (Wis.) Circuit Court.
Poss failed all three field sobriety tests and registered a 0.19 blood-alcohol content in a preliminary breath test, police allege in court records.

A police dispatcher said the arrest would be Poss' 10th offense of driving while intoxicated. Only six of those convictions are listed in court records: five in South Dakota from 1989 through 2002 and another in 1992 in Wisconsin.
The convictions listed in court records allowed the operating-while-intoxicated charge to be filed as a felony, which can draw up to 10 years in prison if he's found guilty.
Court records also show that Poss, a South Dakota native, has at least three convictions in recent years for minor alcohol-related crimes in Iowa and Florida.
Online court records do not show any convictions for Poss in North Dakota or in Minnesota.
Poss is being held in the La Crosse County Jail on bail of $10,000 cash. He hasn't entered a plea.
