FARGO - Police are warning the public to beware of a scam after being notified by several individuals who had been solicited via e-mail by a company claiming to be hiring secret shoppers.
Police say the victims were sent U.S. Postal Service money orders that proved to be counterfeit. They were asked to cash the money orders at their banks, make a purchase at an area business and send the remainder of the cash via money order service to a third party.
