FARGO - Police say a 35-year-old man accused of breaking into a south Fargo business was surprised to find a Fargo police officer waiting for him when he exited the building.

A witness reported seeing a man throw a bucket through the window of ASA Property Management at 3402 15th St. S. at 1:22 a.m. Thursday.

As the first officer arrived at the scene, the suspect stepped out of the building.

"He was surprised," Sgt. Jason Nelson said. "The officer on scene ordered him to the ground and he complied and was then handcuffed and placed in the back of a squad car."

The suspect had cell phones from the business in his possession, Nelson said.

Daniel Donell Harris of Fargo was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to the Cass County Jail.

Officers cleared the building with a Moorhead police dog to make sure no one else was inside, Nelson said.
