FARGO - An off-duty Fargo police officer who left a gun in the bathroom of a Moorhead store last month has been reprimanded by the Police Department for the incident.

Moorhead police said the officer, Jessica Homan, left a personal handgun in the Scheels bathroom on Dec. 17.

Store officials contacted Moorhead police when the pistol was found, and it was returned to Homan - who had already realized she had misplaced it.

Sgt. Mike Mitchell, head of the Office of Professional Standards for Fargo police, said Wednesday that an internal complaint about the handgun incident was upheld.

Mitchell said Homan was given a letter of reprimand, which was dated Jan. 17.
