Fargo 6 year old in stable condition after being hit by a car on Friday

FARGO - The 6-year-old boy who was struck by a car after getting off a school bus on Friday is listed in stable condition this morning, an Essentia Health spokeswoman said.

According to Fargo police:

Isaiah Northington had been crossing the street after he departed a Fargo school bus, stopped on 25th Avenue South at 15th Street.

The bus lights were on and the stop arm was out when the boy was apparently hit by a two-door Pontiac Grand Prix traveling eastbound on 25th Avenue South.

The driver of the Pontiac was identified as Joan Wraalstad, 75, of Fargo.

Friday evening, Fargo police said a preliminary investigation revealed Wraalstad allegedly failed to stop for the school bus.

Police are still investigating the accident, and the case will likely be reviewed by the city attorney.
