MINOT, N.D. -- A Minot woman whose family had not heard from her since the latest earthquake in Nepal contacted her family early Wednesday and also tweeted later in the morning.
Shauntae Delmar called family members about 5 a.m. Wednesday and followed that up by sending a one-word tweet saying "namaste" at about 8:30 a.m. Namaste is a customary, respectful greeting in that part of the world.
Emergency officials in Nepal say at least 76 people died in Tuesday's earthquake, which hit as the small country is still coping with a prior quake that killed more than 8,000 in late April.
Delmar's sister, Tiffany Thorson, told KX News Tuesday that Shauntae's family had not heard from her since Thursday.

Shauntae went to Nepal last week to help in the recovery from the earlier magnitude 7.8 earthquake. Tuesday’s quake was a magnitude 7.3, causing more damage and deaths.
