Science, Religion, Lunch Seminar in Fargo
John Helgeland, longtime religion professor at North Dakota State University, will speak on "Origins of Fundamentalism" at noon Tuesday for the Science, Religion, and Lunch Seminar in the Meadow Lark Room in Memorial Union at NDSU in Fargo.

Sex, Death, Evolution topics of UND Lutheran Center seminar
The Jesus Seminar on the Road will present "Sex, Death, and Evolution: Ethics in the Second Axial Age," April 13 to 14 on UND's campus.

Biblical scholars Jack Hill and Joe Bessler will give lectures and workshops and lead discussions; Bessler at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in UND's Memorial Union and Hill in workshops with Bessler, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14 in Christus Rex Lutheran Campus Center, 3012 University Ave.
The often-controversial California-based Jesus Seminar is an effort to bring the latest, cutting-edge biblical scholarship to a general audience.
Bessler is a Catholic who holds a chair in theology at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa. Hill is a religion professor at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, focusing on ethics and environmental issues, "sharing the wealth and sustaining the earth."
Cost is $75; or $20 for April 13 session and $30 each for two sessions April 14. Students can attend free, but are asked to register.

Rothberg to lead spring retreat
Donald Rothberg, a teacher at the Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California and author of books on Buddhism, will return to lead a spring retreat at the Lotus Meditation Center on UND's campus April 27 to 29.
