Prairie church tour: A "Prairie Church Tour" will take people on a day trip to five historic churches in Steele and Griggs counties in eastern North Dakota on Sept. 19, as well as two museums. It begins at 9 a.m. Sept. 19 in Hope, N.D., and costs $30, which includes a meal and a book on prairie churches in the area. It's sponsored by the East Central North Dakota Tourism Committee.

Jesus Seminar: The Jesus Seminar, the controversial California institute bringing new ways of understanding the Bible, will be "On the Road" at UND in September.
Arthur Dewey and Roy Hoover, scholars with the program from Westar Institute, will speak on "Rediscovering Paul" from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in UND's Memorial Union and from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19 in Christus Rex Lutheran Campus Center, across University Avenue from the union.

Church fundraiser: Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1515 Fifth Ave. N.W., East Grand Forks, will hold a junket fundraiser for women Oct. 3-4 in the Twin Cities. The bus trip, which costs $175, includes shopping, a dinner cruise on Lake Minnetonka and a play at a suburban theater. The money raised will go to Compassion in Action, a nonprofit to help people. All women are welcome to participate.

Women's retreat: "Rest, Renew, Rejoice Women's Retreat," an event for women post-high school and older, is set for Friday and Saturday in Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks. Gathering and registration will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 18.
Sessions, lunch and dinner will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 19. They will include exercise and dance, journaling, spirituality and art, Bible study, crafts and more.
