Larimore church to celebrate May Day

Crookston retreat to focus on silence
The Micah Retreat Center, 18763 Red Lake County Highway 17, in rural Crookston, will hold Silent Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon starting May 17.
The center said Silent Saturdays are informal gatherings to discuss the Christian contemplative way of life and learn and practice contemplative prayer practice. Prayer practices can include meditating on scripture, prayer, tea ceremony, art projects, exploring nature and more.

The group will meet the third Saturday of every month through October. All levels are welcome.

Daughter of Billy Graham to speak
Gigi Graham, daughter of Billy Graham, will be the keynote speaker at the Northlands Rescue Mission’s Women’s Journey luncheon and program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 10 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
The mission said this event is a major fundraiser for its shelter, emergency services and life-transforming programs for homeless women. Tickets are on sale for $50 per person, and event sponsorship opportunities are available.
