GF church presents 'Outrageous Faith' concert

The UND Christus Rex Lutheran Campus Center will be hosting "Outrageous Faith" 7 p.m. Thursday in the Chester Fritz Auditorium. The event will feature speaker Nadia Bolz-Weber as well as performers Rachel Kurtz and her band and rap artist Agape.

Mekinock church to host fall event

Ness Lutheran Church in Mekinock, N.D., will hold its fall bazaar, bake sale and auction starting 6 p.m. Friday. A meal will be available for a free-will offering. The church is north of Grand Forks at 2130 24th St. NE, Mekinock, N.D.

GF church opens pumpkin patch

The Zion United Methodist Church will open the Community Pumpkin Patch the afternoon of Oct. 6 at 1001 24th Ave. S., Grand Forks. A variety of pumpkin sizes and colors will be available. Mini-pumpkins can also be bought for a $1 donation.

Thompson church to host fall dinner

Walle Church near Thompson, N.D. will hold its fall dinner 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 6. The menu will include baked ham, meat balls, mashed potatoes, rømmegrøt and dessert. There will also be a bake sale with homemade lefse and donuts.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and $2 for younger children. The church is 4 miles east and a ½ mile north of Thompson.

GF church plans dinner, bazaar

St. Michael's Catholic Church of Grand Forks will host its fall dinner and bazaar Oct. 6 at 524 N. Fifth Ave. The bazaar booth is open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu will include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and homemade apple and pumpkin pie. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-10.

GF meditation center plans events

The Lotus Meditation Center, 2908 University Ave., will host several events this fall.

A free Beginning Meditation Class will be held 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Mondays through Oct. 14.

There will also be a weekend non-residential retreat led by Spirit Rock teacher Donald Rothberg Oct. 4-5 on "Transforming the Judgmental Mind, Cultivating the Wise Heart." Registration is $95 due Friday.

The center will host a concert with violinist Alejandro Drago at 7 p.m. Oct. 25.
