A man who escaped from the Traill County jail in Hillsboro, N.D., on Wednesday after being arrested for drunk driving was picked up in Maple Grove, Minn., on Saturday morning and arrested again for DWI and fleeing a peace officer, according to a Traill County dispatcher and information from the Hennepin County (Minn.) jail.
Dana Michael Thomas, 26, was being held in the Hennepin County jail on the new charges with bond set at $12,000, according to an informational recording at the jail. He was to appear in court at 1 p.m. Monday on the new charges.
The recording said Thomas was being held without bail on two others cases, one a felony and the other a gross misdemeanor. The nature and location of those charges was not specified.
Thomas escaped early Wednesday. Sheriff Mike Crocker said he did not pose a threat to public safety.
He was being held on charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license in Traill County. He also is wanted in Anoka County, Minn., on a felony DUI charge, according to Crocker.
