Ely, Minn., man killed while changing tire on I-35

The person who was struck and killed by a passing truck Tuesday while changing the tire of a vehicle on the right shoulder of Interstate 35 was identified today.

The person who was struck and killed by a passing truck Tuesday while changing the tire of a vehicle on the right shoulder of Interstate 35 was identified today.

According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol, David J. Serson, 40, of Ely, Minn., was changing the tire of his vehicle when he was struck and killed by a passing truck Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at 3:05 p.m. near Willow River in Pine County and involved a 1996 Freightliner semitrailer, driven by Edward T. Grap, 48, of Isle. Grap wasn't injured.
