Dennis Halverson has held onto his District 3 seat on the Griggs County Commission.

In a recount Monday afternoon, the election results did not change, as Halverson defeated challenger Kent Anderson, 142-140, according to County Auditor Cindy Anton. That was the exact vote in the Nov. 2 Election.

Anderson, who requested the recount, currently is serving as the District 1 County Commissioner. He recently moved from that rural district to Cooperstown, N.D., and District 3.

Anderson will pay the cost of the recount, because the margin was not small enough to trigger an automatic recount.
