Scott Huizenga is officially East Grand Forks' city administrator after the City Council approved his contract Tuesday evening.
He'll start Aug. 4 and earn $83,000 a year in the first year. If he does his job satisfactorily, the council can give him a 3 percent pay hike the following year.
Council members picked Huizenga, currently a project manager in Kansas City, Mo., from four finalists after interviewing them last month.
The city administrator is the top staff position at City Hall.
