GRAND FORKS -- In a recent speech, Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana strongly urged Republicans not to be the stupid party. Former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida endorsed Jindal's recommendation.
But North Dakota lawmakers don't seem to have gotten the message.
Lawmakers are considering five proposals to delete the State Board of Higher Education from the state constitution. If one of these succeeds, all state-supported colleges and universities could lose their accreditation.
That would mean students would not be able to earn legitimate associate, bachelors, masters or doctoral degrees.
Now, that would be stupid.
