The East Grand Forks School Board will vote on the new teacher contract at a special meeting at 7 a.m. today.
The contract was passed Monday by the teachers union in East Grand Forks, and the board members will take the final vote today. The new two-year contract features some small changes from the current contract.
"The total cost to the district will be smaller than the last two years," Superintendent David Pace said.
The total cost will see a 6.2 percent increase, compared with the total cost increase of the past contract, 7 percent. Total cost to the district includes salary increases and benefits, among other costs.
A first-year direct salary increase of 2.1 percent will be in place with the new contract, along with a second-year salary increase of 2.57 percent.
