CROOKSTON-An East Grand Forks man is facing decades in prison on charges of having sexual contact with an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old.

Jesus DeLosSantos, 31, made his first appearance Thursday in Polk County District Court on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, all felonies.

East Grand Forks police began investigating a reported sexual assault Feb. 21, which claimed DeLosSantos had inappropriately touched or had sexual contact with two children at an East Grand Forks home, according to a complaint.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension tested samples from the children and the results matched DeLosSantos' DNA, according to the complaint.

A judge set his bail Thursday at $50,000, which certain conditions include attending future court appearances and remaining law-abiding.

His next court appearance is at 9 a.m. June 14.

DeLosSantos was previously convicted of domestic assault and violating no-contact orders, among other crimes.
