A convicted sex offender made his first appearance in Polk County District Court Wednesday on charges of sexually assaulting two children over a period of five years.
Marcus Gene Hill, 31, of East Grand Forks, was charged in Minnesota 9th District Court in Crookston with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of first-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct, according to court papers.
The charges were filed after one of the children told a school counselor in October about the abuse, according to the criminal complaint. Both children were under the age of 16.
In a telephone conversation with detectives, Hill allegedly denied abusing the children, saying he thought the children were making it up, according to the complaint.
Hill was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in April 2004 in St. Louis County, Minn., according to court records.
