The resignation of East Grand Forks' embattled economic development director is up for discussion at the City Council meeting at 5 tonight, according to the agenda .
Jim Richter originally signed a $510,000 loan that has gone unpaid for more than a decade. He discovered the problem last month.
A couple of weeks ago, the city put him on administrative leave.
The agenda said his resignation would be immediate.
The city is currently pursuing repayment of the loan, which was made to the group that built the Boardwalk building downtown. Dan Stauss, the mayor's brother, is an owner of the building.
