East Grand Forks Council OKs street projects

The East Grand Forks City Council on Tuesday approved a resolution awarding R.J. Zavoral & Sons a $26,430 water main project.
Additionally, the council also approved three street and pedestrian improvements, senior center parking lot improvements and the hiring of temporary summer positions.
In other business, the council approved a facility agreement between the city and A.C. Expos, allowing the company to host a gun show June 2-3 at the Blue Line Arena.
The council also approved a request to declare a list of police firearms as surplus property, to be used toward the approved purchase of a new police carbine and barrel.
The council approved a special event application for the VFW to host a barbeque competition in the parking lot located behind the building on April 21. Along with approving the application, the council also approved a temporary liquor license application for the same event.
All City Council agenda items were passed without discussion.
