Parents preparing for their teens' learning-to-drive process can obtain some advice at a workshop set for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at Valley Middle School in Grand Forks.

The "Dare to Prepare" workshop is offered free for parents and pre-permit teens by AAA North Dakota, Grand Forks Public Schools and Altru Health System's Trauma Services.

The 90-minute workshop covers the responsibilities, expectations and risks of the road. Its goal is to promote safer teen driving and expand parental involvement in the process of learning to drive.

The workshop focuses on information that may not be part of traditional driver education, such as: North Dakota and national statistics on teen driving; graduated driver licensing; parent roles and responsibilities; and distracted driving.
