The Minnesota State Patrol released the identity of an area woman killed in a Tuesday accident on U.S. Highway 75 two miles south of Moorhead.

The victim is Krista McCleary, 21, of Fargo.

McCleary was driving a Chevrolet eastbound on Clay County Highway 12, also known as the convent road. Just before 2 p.m., she stopped at a stop sign at U.S. Highway 75. According to an account by the driver of a southbound tanker truck, she pulled out in front of the truck, which broadsided her vehicle.

McCleary was found dead at the scene.

About 40 accidents have led to six deaths at that intersection in the past two decades, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
