A Drayton, N.D., woman was airlifted to Minneapolis after being injured in a vehicle crash early Wednesday morning west of Warsaw, N.D.

The 23-year-old was driving east on Walsh County Road 15 when she drove onto the south shoulder and partially into the ditch. The driver then jerked the wheel, overcorrecting and losing control, states a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic, went into the north ditch and rolled. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, and the vehicle came to rest on top of her, according to the release.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Altru Hospital and later was airlifted to Minneapolis.

The vehicle was totaled in the crash, the release states.
