Daniel Clayburgh and his wife, Katie Sharff, received their Doctor of Medicine degrees with honors from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine on Friday, June 13, 2008. Both Daniel and Katie were elected to membership in Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Daniel also received the John Van Prohaska Award for outstanding potential for a career in teaching, research and clinical medicine and the Association of Academic Surgery Student Research Award for outstanding performance in research in the general field of surgery.
Daniel received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2006. Daniel and Katie are currently beginning their respective residencies in otolaryngology and internal medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Daniel is the son of Dr. Robert and Sally Clayburgh and a 1997 graduate of Grand Forks Central High School.
