Earlier this month, the Rosemount police department came into possession of a diamond ring. The ring has a distinct inscription inside the band that leads them to believe it is a 50th wedding anniversary ring, and they would like to help it find its way back home.
Community resources officer Julie Pulkrabek said the ring was taken off of a burglary suspect during the person’s arrest, and though the suspect claimed no knowledge of where it came from, she believes it was most likely taken in a burglary.
“I am sure it has significant sentimental value to someone, and we would just like to see it returned to the rightful owner,” Pulkrabek said.
Though Pulkrabek knows finding the ring’s owner is a longshot, she has reason to believe a little detective work can pay off in the end.
“I have found the owner of a class ring previously by finding a yearbook from the year of the ring and finding the people with those initials,” Pulkrabek said. “It took some leg work from my aunt; however, she enjoyed every minute of it.”
