FARGO - A former Fargo attorney is accused of driving drunk in a two-car crash Friday on Highway 10, according to charges filed in Clay County District Court on Monday.
Robert Light, 46, faces a felony count of criminal vehicular operation, and a second-degree driving while intoxicated charge, a gross misdemeanor.
A trooper with the Minnesota State Patrol said in a criminal complaint that a preliminary breath test at the scene put Light's blood alcohol concentration at 0.162 percent, and he allegedly had his 10-year-old son with him in his passenger seat.
Troopers say Light was northbound on County Road 14 when he ran a stop sign while trying to turn right onto Highway 10 near Buffalo River State Park. A witness said Light's vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, and it didn't appear he was going to stop at the intersection.
The driver of the car that was eastbound on Highway 10 - Michael Pickus, 55, of Detroit Lakes, Minn. - was taken by helicopter to MeritCare in Fargo with injuries to his face and pain in his side, according to troopers.

Light first told troopers he had nothing to drink before admitting that he'd consumed alcohol earlier in the day, according to the complaint.
The former attorney was disbarred from practicing law in 2009, two years after he was convicted of driving under the influence, terrorizing and carrying a concealed weapon.
