The Becker County Sheriff's Office was trying to pick up a 49-year-old Dent, Minn., man around 7:30 p.m. at the 59er Motel at 19389 Frontage Road on a harassment restraining order violation out of Otter Tail County.

The man threatened officers through the window, saying he had a gun and would shoot himself or anyone who came in, police said.
