Detroit Lakes homeowner finds intoxicated trespasser on couch

DETROIT LAKES - A homeowner found an intoxicated trespasser sleeping on his couch here Saturday morning and kept him there at gunpoint until officers arrived to make an arrest.

DETROIT LAKES – A homeowner found an intoxicated trespasser sleeping on his couch here Saturday morning and kept him there at gunpoint until officers arrived to make an arrest. 

WDAY reported Stephen Stone, 23, entered the home on the 1100 block of Summit Avenue around 3:30 a.m. The occupants heard a noise, but didn’t find Stone until later, according to deputies.

The homeowner got a gun and kept Stone at the house until authorities arrived to arrest the man, who officers said was intoxicated at the time.

Stone, who faces a charge of trespassing in addition to a charge of disorderly conduct under a previous warrant by the Becker County Sheriff’s Department, is being held in the Becker County Jail.
