LITCHFIELD, Minn. - Authorities are investigating the death of a 4-year-old child Wednesday afternoon in Watkins.
According to a news release from Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin, authorities received a 911 call about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday that Anca Altenburg had found her daughter, Brianna Altenburg, wedged between her bed and the wall.
The mother reported her daughter had gone to her upstairs bedroom to play and when she went to check on the girl, approximately 20 minutes later, she found her unresponsive.
The bed was a manufactured bed that was raised approximately 45 inches high, a loft style bed, with cubicles and drawers beneath the mattress.
The girl was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital. Hospital personnel attempted to revive the child but were unsuccessful.

Watkins is about 25 miles southwest of St. Cloud.
The Watkins Ambulance and Eden Valley Police Department also responded to this incident.
