Leaf collection: Vacuum leaf collection will begin Oct. 13. Crews plan to make two complete passes through Grand Forks.

Weather permitting, the collection is expected to take three weeks.

Residents should pile leaves -- no grass or branches -- loosely on the berm, away from obstacles such as trees and mailboxes. Streets and gutters must remain clear of debris.

Residents who wish to haul their leaves and clippings a yard waste drop site can do so through Nov. 15. Remove plastic bags when depositing leaves at the sites so the material can be composted.

Listings of yard-waste drop-off sites may be found online at www.grandforksgov.com or by calling (701) 746-4636.
