Three teenagers were arrested early Wednesday after allegedly breaking into and stealing a vehicle, according to the Grand Forks Police Department.

Police, responding to a complaint about a vehicle break-in in the 1100 block of Stanford Road, spotted the vehicle, a white Ford Tempo, on the 1200 block of North 39th Street about 5 a.m.

When police approached the car after pulling it over, the suspects fled on foot. They were apprehended shortly thereafter.

Cole Cariveau, 18, East Grand Forks, was charged with fleeing on foot, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, theft of property and minor in consumption.

Two 17-year olds were detained on similar charges.

The police recovered 48 pieces of evidence, including stolen stereo equipment, according to police.
