CRIME AND COURTS: Woman arrested after ER nurse assaulted

FARGO - A 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of felony simple assault after she allegedly punched an emergency room nurse several times, Fargo police Sgt. Jeff Skuza said.

FARGO - A 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of felony simple assault after she allegedly punched an emergency room nurse several times, Fargo police Sgt. Jeff Skuza said.

The incident happened at 4:45 p.m. Monday at the MeritCare Hospital emergency room.

Kathryn D. Halstead of West Fargo, N.D., was arrested and taken to the Cass County Jail. She was described as being intoxicated, Skuza said.

Simple assault on emergency room personnel is automatically a felony under North Dakota law, he said.
