A two-vehicle crash at an intersection in southwest Grand Forks sent one driver to the hospital Wednesday.
Grand Forks police responded at 5:48 p.m. to 32 Avenue South and South 34th Street. A 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Olivia Westover, 20, Minot, was northbound on 34th Street and was attempting to head west when it struck a 2014 Ford SUV driven by Pauline Daninger, 71, Hoople, N.D., who was westbound on 32nd Avenue, according to a news release. Both vehicles came to rest just west of the intersection.
Daninger was taken to Altru Hospital by ambulance for unknown injuries. It is not known if the drivers were wearing seat belts.
Traffic in the westbound lane of 32nd Avenue was diverted onto South 31st Street for about 45 minutes, Sgt. Duane Simon said.
Information provided to police indicates Daninger proceeded into the intersection against a red traffic signal, according to the release, though as of Wednesday evening no one had been cited for the accident pending further investigation.
