Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer COVID-19 booster shots are now available at any Altru primary care clinic to anyone who meets CDC recommendations.

A single booster dose of the Moderna of Pfizer vaccines may be administered at least six months after receiving the first two doses to anyone 65 or older, anyone 18 or older at high risk of severe COVID-19, or anyone 18 or older with frequent institutional or occupational exposure to the coronavirus.

A single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine may be administered at least two months after the first dose to anyone 18 or older.

Patients can receive any booster shot they are eligible for, regardless of the original vaccine they received -- patients who originally received the Pfizer vaccine may receive a Moderna booster, and so forth.

“With COVID-19 infections prevalent in our community, expanding access to booster doses will protect individuals who are at greatest risk for severe illness and hospitalization due to COVID-19,” Heather Strandell, director of primary care operations at Altru, said in an emailed statement. “Please consider getting vaccinated, and a booster dose, as a safeguard for your health.”
