The City of Grand Forks has opened up the waitlist for COVID-19 vaccination appointments to the general public. Vaccinations for anyone older than 16 will be available starting Monday, March 29, with appointments available as early as Wednesday, April 7.

The city, Grand Forks Public Health and Altru Health System are currently finishing vaccinating essential workers under Phase 1C. The rest of the state will also open up vaccinations to the general public starting March 29.

To put your name on the waitlist to schedule a vaccination appointment, log in to or call 701-780-6358. Those scheduling appointments directly through MyChart will also have the option to add themselves to a waitlist for an early appointment, should one open up. To add yourself to this waitlist, select "Add to Waitlist," choose "Schedule an Appointment," and click "COVID Vaccine in Grand Forks."

Although anyone 16 and older may receive the Pfizer vaccine, patients younger than 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to be vaccinated.

“Today is a great day as we open the waitlist to the general public," Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski said in a statement. "I am so excited to learn that we will most likely reach herd immunity by June 1. The vaccine is our strongest economic stimulator as it creates momentum and optimism in consumer behavior.”
