After a significant increase in reported positive COVID-19 cases this week, Traill County will be conducting drive-thru testing this weekend.
A Mayville, N.D., nursing home reported 20 positive cases of COVID-19 this week, including 13 staff members and seven residents. The total number of cases in the county jumped from two at the beginning of the week to 20 after the report. Luther Memorial Home has 99 residents and about 200 staff members.
The drive-up testing event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mayville in the parking lot of the May-Port CG High School. The first half of the event, from 10 a.m. to noon, is for close contacts of positive cases, first responders and health care workers. The second half will be for the general public from 12 to 2 p.m. or whenever tests run out.
There is no cost for the test, and health insurance is not processed.
The event is for ages 12 and older only, except younger children who are part of a family of close contacts.
Registration is required at https://testreg.nd.gov/.
