• UND has announced its 2016-17 scholarship recipients.
Tyler Beattie, Grand Forks, received the Dr. Brad and Gayle Aafedt Medical Scholarship.
Beau Burkholder, Grand Forks, received the Academic Achievement Award and the Medical School Dean's Scholarship.
Annika Strand, Grand Forks, received the Medical School Dean's Scholarship and the Academic Achievement Award.
Haley Amoth, Langon, N.D., received the Dr. Rene and Barbara A. Pelletier Medical Scholarship, the Gustave Golseth and Wesley Morrish medical Scholarship and the Medical School Dean's Scholarship.

Marcus Geffre, Mayville, N.D., received the Arden and Bertha Anderson Scholarship.
• Six Grand Forks Public School students have been named as nominees for the U.S. Presidential Scholars program in Career and Technical Education.
Those nominated include Taylor Berry, Rebecca Rage, Brady Terril and Evan Welsh of Central High School and Kyle Korman and Mikale Kuntz of Red River High School.
