FARGO -- Six climbers who turned a Mount Kilimanjaro summit into a fundraiser for a Fargo-based organization say the trek was a success.
Spokesman John Amble says everyone in the group reached the top of Africa's highest peak.
Amble says the climbers raised about $6,400 for Up With Downs, a group that aims to improve the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
The goal was to raise $5,895, which is one dollar for every meter of Mount Kilimanjaro's vertical height.
Amble tells The Forum newspaper ( http://bit.ly/pRG3X4 ) the hike was an exciting experience and all the climbers were challenged, especially on summit day.
