Removal of the emergency clay levees that protected Grafton, N.D., during this spring's flooding began Friday.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $123,000 contract to Spruce Valley of Middle River, Minn., for the work. The work was expected to be completed within 12 days, according to a press release.
