MINOT, N.D. – The former Sawyer superintendent charged with human trafficking now faces an additional criminal charge related to possessing child pornography.
Charles William Soper, 50, Minot, is charged with possession of certain materials prohibited after Minot police reviewed images obtained from computers and other electronic devices seized from his home and office earlier this year.
The charge, a Class C felony, prohibits the possession of a video, photograph or other visual representation that includes sexual conduct by a minor.
Soper, who was arrested in May at the Sawyer High School, has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges stemming from allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy. He is being held in the Ward County Jail. Soper resigned as superintendent after his arrest.
