HOUSTON -- A Texas mom says she never would have come to Canada to meet with a teenager from Barrie, Ont., had she known he was 16.
Forty-two-year-old Lauri Price made those comments in an interview yesterday -- the same day the charges against her of online solicitation of a minor and enticing a child were dropped in Texas.
Price, who is a mother of four, was charged in Houston after she flew to Ontario in late December to meet Andrew Kane, whom she met through the online role-playing game World of Warcraft.
Price says Kane, who is now 17, told her at the time that he was 20.
Kane ran away from home after his parents refused to let him meet Price. The pair were later found together in Orillia, Ont.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office in Texas says the charges against Price were dropped because it was unlikely Andrew would testify and there is evidence he lied about his age.
Price was charged in Texas because the age of consent there is 18, but she couldn't be charged in Canada since the age of consent here is 16.
