Central High School Principal Buck Kasowski said Thursday students are "ready to move on" from allegations a group of athletes engaged in a sexual act on a school bus.
"Students make mistakes all of the time," he said. "And when they make mistakes, there are consequences. When the consequences are done, we move on. That's what schools do."
Six Grand Forks junior varsity baseball players were suspended for three to five days from school after an incident on a bus following the team's final game of the season, Kasowski said. He declined to provide further details, citing a federal student privacy law.
During a Wednesday broadcast, Fargo TV station Valley News Live stated the players recently misbehaved on a bus, basing their details of the alleged act on social media that "basically confirmed the rumors." Kasowski said "some" of the posted information was incorrect.
Asked if the supervising coach was reprimanded or fired, Kasowski declined to comment. He only stated the coach fulfilled his obligations, and the contract expired the day the season ended.

He also didn't confirm whether school policy on student behavior will change. It currently states students should be good representatives of the school and district, he said.
"Coaches have high standards for student athletes," he said. "This will remind coaches to be vigilant in their supervision. We're not blaming the coach. This wasn't the coach's fault."
