Car-bicycle collision injures woman

A woman was admitted to Altru Hospital in satisfactory condition after being struck on her bicycle by a motorist Wednesday afternoon, Grand Forks police said.

A woman was admitted to Altru Hospital in satisfactory condition after being struck on her bicycle by a motorist Wednesday afternoon, Grand Forks police said.

Tammara Brandenburg, 49, told police she had stopped for the stop sign on the west side bike path at North Washington Street and 12th Avenue North just after 2 p.m. As she began crossing 12th Avenue North, she was struck by an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet driven by William Mack, 29, Grand Forks, officers said. Mack told police he had stopped for a stop sign at the intersection.

Police said Brandenburg had injuries that were not life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
