FARGO -- Spring enrollment is up or stable at many area campuses.
North Dakota State University reported 12,856 students Tuesday, a 6.7 percent increase over this time last year.
NDSU saw increases in all categories of students, with the largest percentage gains in graduate students and international students.
Enrollment is expected to continue increasing before the official spring enrollment tally is taken on the 20th day of the semester.
Minnesota State University Moorhead reported a stable first-day enrollment of 6,795 students, up six students from a year ago.

Minnesota State Community and Technical College has 5,653 students enrolled, a 3.4 percent increase over last year's first-day enrollment.
The Moorhead campus serves 2,403 of those students, a 5.9 percent increase since last year.
The North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton reported a 3.6 percent increase with 2,267 students.
Valley City (N.D.) State University reported 1,010 students, an 8.5 percent increase over last year and "the largest that number's been in 10 years," campus spokesman Doug Anderson said.
Campuses record official enrollment for the spring semester in February.
UND and Mayville (N.D.) State University plan to release enrollment figures today.
Concordia College typically announces enrollment numbers after final tallies are recorded.
