"It's a Balancing Act" is the second of several major autism-based conferences ACC is hosting in 2009. Following a six-month crime spree, which included five armed bank robberies in three states, Evans was sentenced to 13 years in Federal prison in Florence, Colo. Evans shares his stories of failure and success at 10 a.m. June 12 in the Alerus Center.

North Country Trail Conference, July 30 to Aug. 2, Valley City, N.D.: The focus of the conference is educational workshops, tours and a full slate of outdoor activities including 16 planned hiking opportunities and canoeing the Sheyenne River. The conference is being hosted by the Sheyenne River Valley Chapter of the North Country Trail Association and will be held on the campus of Valley City State University.
