BUSINESS BRIEFS: UND Alumni Association hires two

The UND Alumni Association and Foundation has hired Kim Pastir as the director of CEO/CFO support and human resources director and David Gregory as the director of corporate and foundation relations.

The UND Alumni Association and Foundation has hired Kim Pastir as the director of CEO/CFO support and human resources director and David Gregory as the director of corporate and foundation relations.

Pastir will provide executive and administration support to the CEO and CFO and will develop and maintain the employee-oriented culture of the organization. Pastir has spent the previous 18 years working in the UND Office of Continuing Education.

Gregory will be responsible for planning and implementing strategies to maximize the flow of resources to the UND campus from corporations and foundations. Gregory has a bachelor's degree from Bemidji State University and earned a master's degree in public administration from UND. He previously worked as a customer manager for Merck and Co. Inc.

Altepeter accepts position

Clay Altepeter has accepted the position of agriculturist in the Drayton, N.D., district of American Crystal Sugar Co.

Altepeter will provide expertise to growers in the production of a high-quality beet crop and an increase in the recoverable sugar per acre.

Altepeter will graduate from North Dakota State University with a bachelor of science degree in crop and weed sciences.

Cleveland joins Grand Forks Herald

Ben Cleveland has joined the Grand Forks Herald advertising sales department as a summer intern.

He will work with the sales team on a variety of projects for the daily newspaper and weekly Red River Values.

Cleveland is a Grand Forks native and a graduate of Red River High School. He is attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Forberg joins Grand Forks Herald

Daniel Forberg has joined the Grand Forks Herald as a multimedia advertising consultant.

His responsibilities include providing print and digital marketing solutions to help local businesses reach their goals. Daniel is a native of New Prague, Minn., and graduated from UND in the spring.

Herald announces interns in newsroom

The Herald will have three student interns joining its newsroom this summer.

Crystal Duan and Ally Krupinsky are general assignment reporting interns, covering stories in the Grand Forks region. Duan is a student at the University of Missouri, majoring in journalism and English. She is originally from Portland, Ore. Krupinsky, a Bismarck native, studies at the University of South Dakota and majors in journalism and addiction studies.

Joshua Komer is a photo intern. He is a photojournalism student at Randolph Community College in Asheboro, N.C.
