Choice Financial honored by Special Olympics

At its recent awards banquet, Special Olympics North Dakota awarded Choice Financial the Continuous Service Award, along with 15 others. Choice Financial has partnered with Special Olympics for many years and recently has taken over the coordination and implementation of the bocce competition at the State Summer Games.

RiverView Health presents awards

At its recent annual meeting and membership banquet, the RiverView Healthcare Association recognized board of director members for their years of service and presented several employee awards, while celebrating a successful 2017, with a total margin of 5.8 percent reported for the year. Board of Director terms expired for Dr. Colin Fennell and Andrew Svec. Jenny Amon, Shannon Stassen and Michelle Snyder were re-elected. Tim Brinkman was newly elected to the board.

The following awards were presented: 2017 Employee of the Year: Roxanne Cota; Bright Idea of the Year: Morgan Kresl and Michelle Moen; and Reaching Out To Serve: Crookston Area Ambulance.

Knights of Columbus recognizes Wayne Cherney

Wayne Cherney, field agent with Knights of Columbus Insurance, was recently honored as Agent of the Year Runner Up 2017 in the Dolan Agency in North Dakota. He was also the agency leader in Long Term Care and Retirement Annuity. Cherney is a life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table for 2017, which is the premier association of financial professions and of which he has been a member of for 23 years. Cherney serves Knights of Columbus families in Devils Lake and the surrounding area.

Transition plan in place for Grafton Area Chamber

Brian VanBruggen, president of the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce, has announced the recent appointment of Shirley Burns as the next executive vice president of the Chamber, effective July 1. Dennis Sevigny, current executive vice president, will continue in his capacity until June 29.

Edgewood announces new hires

Edgewood has announced recent new hires at their Grand Forks and East Grand Forks locations. Jimmy Whetter is the executive director at Edgewood Memory Care, East Grand Forks. Eric Hoffman is the executive director in training and Missy Ohe is the outreach marketing director at Edgewood Parkwood in Grand Forks.

Altru welcomes Marquart to Advanced Orthopedics

Dr. Matthew Marquart has recently joined the team at Altru Advanced Orthopedics, Grand Forks. Marquart is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, trained in all facets of foot and ankle care and general orthopedics including ankle, knee and hip replacement and advanced reconstruction of the foot and ankle.
