If you thought this week was cold, get prepared for next week because things aren't looking any better.
A clipper system is expected to move out of Canada on Sunday into the Northern Plains bringing accumulating snow and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks.
Snow is forecast for central and eastern North Dakota into far northwestern Minnesota and west-central Minnesota. However, the weather service said this snow is "very dependent on the track of this clipper" and is subject to change as the forecast evolves.
Gusty winds behind the clipper could create conditions for blowing snow and low visibility.
Details on amounts and travel impacts are still unclear, the weather service said.

But after the snow falls, the cold is set to sink in. Frigid temperatures may begin to move into the region as early as Monday overnight, the weather service said.
The coldest temperatures currently in the forecast are lows in the minus 20 to minus 30 range with wind chills possibly colder than minus 50 Tuesday and Wednesday overnight.
Highs are expected to be 20 to 40 degrees below average.
"This pattern is showing a signal of cold air not seen in this region for some time," the weather service said.
The weather service added these weather events are still several days out and "forecast guidance will likely change in location and timing as the events draw closer."
