A former member of the North Dakota House from Gilby, N.D., has a new job with Republican Sen. John Hoeven.
Tom Brusegaard will serve as field representative with Hoeven's field office in Grand Forks. He also did some contract work last year with Hoeven's successful campaign for the Senate against Democratic challenger Tracy Potter.
"I'll be a point of contact for people in this region and any dealings they might want to have not just with the senator but also with other federal agencies," he said. "Our office is a place to come and meet with somebody face-to-face."
Brusegaard said the downtown Grand Forks field office is now open and can be contacted at (701) 746-8972. The office is located in Room 108 of the Ronald N. Davies Federal Building, 102 N. Fourth St.
On Thursday, Hoeven also announced the opening of his North Dakota field offices in Fargo and Bismarck.

Brusegaard served three terms as one of the two House members from District 19, which covers rural Grand Forks, until being defeated by Democrat Chris Griffin in 2006.
