MANDAN, N.D. -- The body found in Mandan has been identified by police as that of 30-year-old Bismarck man Justin Gerou.
Cause of death remains under investigation, but there was no trauma to the body and police are awaiting toxicology results, according to Mandan Police Lt. Lori Flaten.
Gerou's body was found Wednesday morning in water by maintenance workers who were checking drainage pipes off of 40th Avenue Southeast, between Shoal Loop Southeast and 21st Street Southeast.
Police and paramedics arrived and removed the body from the water. It later was transported to the North Dakota State Forensic Examiner's Office, where the body underwent an autopsy on Thursday morning.
